Due to a period of growth, we are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Mechanic to join our team at Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club on a Full-Time basis, with an immediate start and negotiable salary for the right candidate!

This opportunity is best suited to a someone who is self-motivated, hands-on and well-experienced technically. This is a full-time position working within the golf course maintenance team, with remuneration for the role guided by the candidate’s skills and experience.

Objectives

The core objective of the Golf Course Mechanic role is to service and maintain a wide range of golf course machinery and equipment, including emergency machinery breakdown repairs and welding and fabrication duties, while ensuring appropriate safety standards are met.



Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across a variety of turf-care equipment to ensure all faults are fixed and resolved promptly.

  • Maintaining up-to-date service records for all service and repair work, as well as an accurate inventory of parts and supplies.

  • Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance work.

  • Operate specialised turf equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.

  • Thoroughly assist in all WHS training needs and procedures, including the identification of potential issues in relation to plant and other machinery.

  • Any other duties as listed in the PD for the role of as directed by Course Superintendent or Senior Management


Mechanic Position Requirements

  • Experience in welding, hydraulics, as well as petrol and diesel machinery

  • Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance skills.

  • Mechanical trade certificate (desirable) or other relevant trade qualifications.

  • Relevant experience in the turf industry (desirable)

  • Competent and experienced with a wide range of turf machinery

  • Effective communication skills with ability to liaise with team members and members of the public

  • Able to work within a small team and, at times, unsupervised

  • Self-motivated and punctual

  • Ability to perform the inherent physical requirements of the role

  • Hold a current Australian driver licence

  • Valid, full-time Australian working rights
