Golf Tournament Manager Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning and execution of the Club’s golf tournaments as directed by the Golf Operation Leadership
  • Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, registration, pairings, scoring, course setup, food & beverage coordination, and awards presentations
  • Develop detailed event timelines and operational plans to ensure seamless execution between departments
  • Collaborate with Golf Professionals, Course Superintendents, Food & Beverage teams, and other departments to align event operations
  • Manage tournament software systems for registration, pairings, scoring, and communications utilizing Golf Genius & GHIN
  • Coordinate course setup with professional golf staff to ensure appropriate tee markers, signage, contests, and tournament infrastructure
  • Ensure events are conducted in accordance with USGA rules and club policies
  • Provide operational and administrative support to other Tournament Department staff during Association, Junior, of course and other organized events
  • Assist with high-volume event days, multi-course tournaments, and large member/guest events
  • Responsible for the development and adherence of annual Club Tournament Budget in conjunction with ADOG and DOG
  • Responsible for tournament billing and financial management of tournaments
  • Maintain accurate event records, financial, and participation data
  • Timely and clear communication to and from Club Members, team members and fellow departments around tournament and event questions and needs
  • Coordinate event communications including promotional materials, registration information, and post-event summaries
  • Assist with annual and monthly tournament calendar planning and event strategy
  • Attending Golf Committee meetings and presenting to the Committee an update on current & past events
Other duties as assigned



Golf Tournament Manager Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be a member of or apprentice with the Professional Golfers Association of America with experience at a private club with a high volume of play
  • Must be experienced in tournament operations, golf instructional programs, and merchandising
  • PGA Apprentice or Member encouraged, however is not required
  • Must be experienced in Golf Operations & Tournament/Group Golf Operations
  • Knowledge of USGA Rules of Golf & GHIN Handicap system preferred
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills using Windows, Outlook (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint)
Professional level written and oral communication skills



Golf Tournament Manager Physical Requirements:

Sits at computer & answer phone 60% of workday
  • Stands and walks for 40% of workday
  • Works indoors 70% of the workday
Works outdoors 30% of the workday
