Summary of Position:
Oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, reporting, and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention and management, guest service and satisfaction, course quality, food quality, cleanliness and compliance. This position is responsible for the financial and operational objectives of their property.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Ensure that all positions are covered by qualified staff at all times necessary and if needed, the manager will cover all shifts in need of staff.
· Hours worked will be based on the need to the job done, never leaving the facility short staffed.
· Manager will work the proshop counter during peak season and will be required to work more during slow periods.
· Will be responsible to ensure all daily cash receipts are deposited in the bank.
· Understand and implement the philosophy of Vargo Golf in regards to operations, marketing, reporting, yield management, tee sheet management, and guest services.
· Understand all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and training programs.
· Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times, and that every guest situations is handled in an expedited manner and followed up to ensure satisfaction.
· Ensure that the tee sheet is carefully scrutinized every day for items that can negatively affect play and revenue.
· Ensure that the golf course is looked at no less than every other day to ensure standards are being met.
· Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and available to the customers.
· Achieve the club’s objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility, and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
· Make employment decisions, making absolutely sure to stay within the legal guidelines set forth by the state, and must get superior’s approval before any termination decisions are made.
· Continually strive to develop your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.
· Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
· Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in good working condition through personal inspection.
· Ensure that all products (merchandise, maintenance, food) are received in correct unit, count, style, date, and condition.
· Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all position are staffed as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
· Be knowledgeable of Club’s policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of Vargo Golf policies, rules, and procedures.
· Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the Club, employees and guests.
· Help to develop, plan, and carry out Club marketing, advertising, and promotional activities and campaigns.
· Be available and willing to help wherever needed, whenever needed as the facility needs demand.
· Continually grow outings and leagues.
· Maintain current outing and league relationships.
· Maintain a Facebook page for your club.
· Ensure the facility is clean at all times. This includes but is not limited to the bathrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, carts, and entrance.
· Promote the Club and other properties managed and owned by Vargo Golf Company.
· Maintain proper dress code, this includes always wearing clothing with the Club or Vargo Golf logo on them, maintain manicured hair and facial hair, and ensure clothing is not wrinkled.
· Consistently communicate with marketing department to ensure weekly blogs, monthly coupons and selected specials are posted on the internet.
· Accurately compile employee payroll information.
· Ensure that purchase orders are sent in a timely fashion for all purchases made at the facility.
· Design, implement and manage the entire golf outings sales plan.
· Coordinate timely meetings between outing coordinators and various clubs.
· Ensure agreements and deposits are finalized and filed.
· Track all upcoming and foregone outings to ensure proper information is collected, recorded, and communicated to personnel.
· Network with local businesses.
· Vacations must be sent by email and approved by supervisor. Two consecutive days off during the golf season is considered a vacation and must be approved.
· Build strong relationships that encourage repeat play and increase profitability.
· Monitoring and updating outing contracts and worksheets.
· Send a Monday report with a summary of the happenings of your property by noon on Monday.
Additional Compensation:
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
