Position Description.

The Irrigation Tech reports directly to the Director of Agronomy and/or the Golf Course Superintendent. The primary role of the Irrigation Technician is to maintain, repair and monitor all facets of the irrigation system including pumps, piping, valves and heads.

Responsibilities.
  • Maintain, repair and monitor all facets of golf course irrigation system
  • Constant monitoring and adjusting of sprinkler heads throughout entire property
  • Trace and locate electrical components related to the irrigation system
  • Irrigation inventory and parts ordering
  • Communicate with Assistant Superintendent on the status of the irrigation system and golf course moisture levels
  • Perform varied tasks Involved In maintaining pristine golf course conditions
  • Operate powered equipment in mowing golf course greens, tees and fairways
  • Apply water and fertilizer as instructed
  • Change cups on the greens and move tee markers as directed
  • Remove debris and maintain course cleanliness
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Fill divots with divot mix
  • Blow cart paths
  • Assist with seeding new greens, tees, and fairways
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and abide by all safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all company and departmental guidelines
  • Report any hazards, injuries, and safety concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor
  • Demonstrate warmth and sincerity in all interactions
  • Take ownership of all guest requests and be proactive in ensuring resolution as needed
  • Always maintain impeccable grooming and personal hygiene and wear uniform as directed
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor in both verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Uphold Sensei values in daily practices
  • Successfully complete all training and certifications needed for the position
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all guests
  • Adhere to all Sensei Porcupine Creek policies and procedures
  • Report all faulty equipment, supply needs, maintenance needs, safety hazards, injuries, and other concerns immediately to your supervisor
  • Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
  • Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers
  • Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.
  • Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2-4 years of golf course maintenance Irrigation experience
  • Knowledge of the theory, care and operation of pumping stations and control systems
  • Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work
  • Ability to operate light motorized equipment
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Must be able to handle extreme weather outdoors and work in various weather conditions

Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain a clean DMV record
