Links Hope Island is its meticulously designed 18-hole championship golf course, known for its challenging layout and breathtaking views. Designed by five times British Open Champion and one of the true greats of Australian golf, Peter Thomson, and his design partner, Mike Wolveridge, the layout is rated by Australian golfing legend, Peter Senior, as “one of the best championship links courses you’ll play”. The layout, set in a 360ha residential resort community, carries a par of 72 and measures some 6,400 metres off the championship tees.
We are now seeking an experienced Golf Course Maintenance Machinery Mechanic to join our Golf Course Maintenance Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in golf course maintenance and possess the necessary skills to perform a wide range of mechanical tasks related to golf course equipment. This position is available as part time or full-time, depending on the successful candidate’s availability and needs. Please state your preference when applying and indicate preferred days of work.
Responsibilities:
– Perform routine maintenance and repair of golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, sprayers, utility vehicles, and other machinery.
– Conduct inspections to identify any mechanical issues or potential hazards.
– Diagnose equipment problems and implement appropriate repairs or adjustments.
– Ensure all equipment is properly serviced and maintained according to manufacturer guidelines.
– Keep detailed records of maintenance activities performed on each piece of equipment.
– Assist in the installation of new equipment as needed.
– Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure efficient operations across the golf course.
– Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Skills:
– Proven experience as a Golf Course Maintenance Machinery Mechanic or similar role within the leisure/sport or mechanical industries.
– Strong knowledge of golf course or similar machinery and equipment.
– Proficient in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing repairs.
– Ability to use various tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
– Good understanding of preventative maintenance procedures.
– Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
– Effective communication skills.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Relevant certifications in mechanics preferred but not essential.
– Valid driver’s license.
