Position Summary

Resort Golf Club is seeking a skilled, dependable, and self-motivated Golf Course Maintenance Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and preventative service of the golf course's equipment fleet. The mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring all maintenance equipment is operating safely and efficiently, allowing the grounds maintenance team to consistently deliver exceptional course conditions for our members and guests.

The ideal candidate has experience working on gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and small engine equipment. Previous experience maintaining golf course equipment is preferred but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all golf course maintenance equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system issues on a variety of equipment.
  • Maintain greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, aerators, topdressers, and other turf maintenance equipment.
  • Grind, sharpen, adjust, and set cutting units to ensure exceptional mowing quality.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for all equipment.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of replacement parts, lubricants, and shop supplies.
  • Perform routine inspections and safety checks on all equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Assist the grounds maintenance staff with course maintenance duties when necessary.
  • Respond to emergency equipment repairs during peak maintenance periods and tournaments.
  • Recommend equipment replacement or upgrades when appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Experience repairing gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience welding and fabricating is preferred.
  • Ability to read service manuals and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
  • Experience operating golf course maintenance equipment is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair projects.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely operate shop tools and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule
  • Typical work schedule begins between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
  • Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required.
  • Overtime opportunities may be available during peak growing seasons and tournament preparation.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
