Golf Course Maintenance Lead Desert Canyon Golf Club | Fountain Hills, Arizona Full-Time | $23–$26 per hour, depending on experience Reports to: Golf Course Superintendent About the Position Desert Canyon Golf Club is seeking a dependable, hands-on agronomy team member to help maintain excellent course conditions and support the organization of our maintenance crew. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of golf course maintenance experience, takes pride in their work, and is ready to grow their leadership skills. Working closely with the Superintendent, this individual will help organize daily task lists, communicate assignments, and follow up on completion while actively participating in course maintenance. Key Responsibilities · Assist the Superintendent in preparing daily work assignments and organizing staff, equipment, and priorities. · Help communicate tasks to the crew and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to club standards. · Perform routine maintenance, including mowing, bunker care, course setup, divot repair, landscaping, and debris removal. · Support irrigation inspections and repairs, overseeding, aerification, and other seasonal projects. · Help train team members on maintenance procedures and safe equipment operation. · Monitor course conditions and promptly report turf concerns, irrigation issues, equipment problems, and safety hazards. · Keep equipment, tools, and the maintenance facility clean and organized. · Work respectfully around golfers and coordinate tasks to minimize disruptions to play. Qualifications · Ideally, 2–5 years of golf course maintenance experience. · Familiarity with golf course equipment, turf maintenance, and daily course preparation. · Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. · Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. · Previous crew leadership or employee training experience preferred. · Irrigation experience and English/Spanish communication skills are a plus. Schedule and Working Conditions This position requires early mornings and availability for weekends and holidays as scheduled. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform essential physical duties, including walking, bending, lifting, and operating maintenance equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
