Full job description
The Golf Course Maintenance Staff Member performs jobs involved in golf course maintenance. Will train the right candidate. Free golf for all employees!

DUTIES

The duties of a Golf Course Maintenance Staff Member include:

- Operate powered equipment in mowing the golf course putting greens, aprons, tees, fairways, and rough areas.
- Water and fertilize putting greens, tees, and fairways.
- Grade and prepare a soil planting bed, lay sod, plant vegetative material, and seed putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
- Change cups and tee markers; fill divots.
- Maintain ball washers and water coolers.
- Edge cart paths, edge, rake and maintain sand bunkers.
- Operate trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.
- Trim trees and shrubbery; cultivate flowers and shrubs.
- Lay walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes, excavate and backfill ditches and trenches with hand tools, repair and replace pipe on irrigation systems.
- Replace tee towels and flags when needed.
- Return all equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility, clean maintenance areas.
- Mark the course for cart control weekly, move cart control barriers, and replace worn or lost ropes and signs; may mark hazard and drop areas.

This position is a temporary and seasonal position.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in golf course ground landscape construction and maintenance work.
- Ability to safely operate trucks and motorized equipment and follow oral and written directions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and move 80 lbs.

PREFERRED SKILLS

- High school diploma.

  • Previous golf course experience a plus: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
  • Must have reliable transportation and be over 18 (Preferred)
