The Golf Club Gripper at The Golf Mart is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture that is consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy, which has made Worldwide Golf what it is today. As an entry-level position to Club Repair, and potentially positions at the store, the Gripper is an important role, as it handles the largest volume of all alterations performed in the repair department. The primary role of a Gripper includes removing existing grips from clubs and installing new grips safely, without damage or injury. Other modifications to customer's equipment such as extending or shortening clubs, lie angle adjustments, and re-shafting, are skills that may be acquired through additional training and proven proficiency with the Gripper position. The hourly rate for this position is $15.50 - $17.50 per hour. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise and education/training.

Remove existing grips from clubs and install new grips.
Answer the phone and provide exceptional customer service.
Operate shop equipment safely by complying with workplace safety programs.
Show accuracy in completing all order forms and repair tags.
Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Ability to read, write and understand correspondence and procedures effectively.
Freely access all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area and register area by standing, walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, crouching and kneeling and lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds at any given time.
Work varied hours/days as business dictates.
Prior experience working in a shop environment is preferred, but not required. Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply!
Knowledge of golf clubs or the golf industry is preferred but not required.
