Job Summary
Corral de Tierra Country Club is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Golf Shop Assistant to provide exceptional service to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the Golf Shop. The ideal candidate will have retail sales and merchandising experience, a positive attitude, and a passion for creating an outstanding member experience. Familiarity with golf is highly desirable.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of retail sales and merchandising experience required.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Familiarity with the game of golf and golf equipment is highly preferred.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Strong sales and merchandising skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Friendly, professional, and service-oriented demeanor.
- Ability to promote the game of golf and the Club's services enthusiastically.
- Welcome and assist members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Advise members and guests on golf apparel, equipment, accessories, and merchandise.
- Arrange, display, stock, and maintain Golf Shop merchandise.
- Assist with merchandising, inventory organization, and special orders.
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and accurately process sales transactions.
- Collect and record greens fees, cart fees, and other golf-related charges.
- Schedule tee times and check in members and guests for play.
- Answer phones, take messages, and respond to member inquiries.
- Assist with tournament registration and special golf events.
- Support Golf Shop promotions, sales, and marketing initiatives.
- Open and close the Golf Shop according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive Golf Shop, including dusting, vacuuming, and restocking merchandise.
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Professional or Assistant Golf Professional.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, and carrying merchandise.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with retail operations.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed.
