Responsibilities
ThePacemaster'stypical job functions include:
- Enforcing established rules of course among golfers such as replacing divots, wearing of proper clothing and practicing at designated sites
- Patroling golf course to prevent unauthorized persons from using facilities and preventing players from entering course beyond starting tee
- Advising players to speed up or slow down in order to alleviate bottlenecks
- Explaining rules of game to players to settle disputes
- Monitoring water bottles, cup supplies and ball washing equipment on course and replenishing as needed
- Observing trash receptacles and restrooms for cleaning
- Ensuring flags are placed on course before golfers begin and picked up in the evenings after golfers finish
- Returning lost equipment to owners or to clubhouse
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other team members, officials, and all members of the general public
- Receiving and responding to feedback from golfers, including providing course and area information to golfers
- Delivering urgent messages to players on course
This positionmight be for you if:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Youhave knowledge of the game of golf and the ability to learn policies, rules and regulations of the course
- You enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions
