Cootamundra Golf & Sports Club has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Greenkeeper to join it's grounds team and learn the trade on its iconic golf course. This is a full-time opportunity is open to first year apprentices who have a passion for the outdoors and want a supported and engaging apprenticeship experience.

The Club boasts a par 71 18-hole course which spans over the Clubs 120 acres of land. This course is fully irrigated with state-of-the-art technology, and is host to esteemed tournaments and competitions which inspire enthusiasts Australia wide to make the scenic trip inland. As part of the Wyong Leagues Group, Cootamundra Golf & Sports Club has a strong connection to community and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and reflects our values. This is a great opportunity for a person who is passionate about pursuing a career in greenkeeping. The successful candidate will preferably have a current drivers licence and reliable vehicle, will be self-motivated, reliable and have the ability to take direction.

The successful candidate will be completing their apprenticeship over a four year period, undertaking all roles to become a qualified tradesperson, and will be required to attend TAFE one day per week or block release as part of their employment.

About the role:

  • Weekday and weekend work will be required - 38 hours per week

  • Early starts required

  • All work will be conducted outdoors

  • Follow Work Health and Safety processes

  • Maintaining and renovating of greens

  • Green waste clearing and removal

  • Treatment of weeds/pests

  • Maintain machinery and tools

  • General gardening, lawn mowing, edging, brush cutting, pruning hedges and trees

What you must have;

  • Physically fit

  • Current drivers licence and reliable vehicle preferable

  • True passion for the industry

  • Willingness to learn and within a small team

  • Reliable with good time management skills
TAFE is an important part of the role, therefore excellent attendance is necessary and great results are required.
