About this opportunity

About this opportunity
As a Groundsperson, you will assist in the maintenance and improvement of the resort grounds, which include the gardens, golf course and roads within the boundary of our 27 hole golf course & resort.
Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, this position is an active hands on role, working in a team or autonomously, and when required, without supervision. Day-to-day you will:
- Perform general grounds duties such as planting, mowing, landscaping, applying fertilisers and water system maintenance
- Operate machinery and maintain equipment, adhering to the work health & safety policy
- Ensure a high standard of quality presentation is maintained
- Complete tasks within the designated time frames and to a high standard
- Ensure a safe workplace is maintained
- Interact with guests and visitors to provide a high standard of customer service and a memorable experience

We’re looking for
- Experience working in a groundsperson role at a golf course, hotel/resort or similar environment
- Certificate III in Horticulture or Turf Management qualification, desirable
- An understanding of golf course maintenance, horticulture and landscape procedure and techniques
- Equipment operation, repair and maintenance
- Understanding of irrigation and water quality systems – usage & maintenance
- Knowledge and handling of chemicals & supplies
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks including heavy lifting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive ‘can do’ attitude & take pride in work
- Team player who can work effectively in a diverse team or independently
- Attention to detail, can use initiative and can problem solve
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work efficiently
- Maintain excellent personal presentation
- WH&S requirements – understanding of federal, state & local legislation applicable to property, plant & equipment.
- WH&S and First Aid Certificate desirable.
- An interest in the golf industry, desirable
