Third in Charge (Foreman)
Strathfield Golf Club has recently undergone an extensive rebuild, with 14 of the 18 holes on the course being rebuilt in the last 7 years, along with the building of a brand new clubhouse and staff facilities. Strathfield Golf Club is now one of the premier private clubs in Sydney’s Inner- West located just off Centenary Drive.
Over the last 18 months multiple changes have happened with the maintenance team with all key management roles changing hands. The club now has a new and very driven management team and progressive board, and it would like to expand upon with the hiring of a new course foreman (Third in Charge) to join a young management team.
The club is in the process of installing a new irrigation system, intensive fairway drainage and finishing the course master plan over the coming years.
Working closely with the Course Superintendent and Assistant Course Superintendent, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the course maintenance management team and will assist the Assistant Superintendent in the management of the day to day running of the maintenance program. As this is a key leadership role, the position will assist in planning of the work schedule, planning and implementation of the chemical program, irrigation scheduling and will fill in for the role as Assistant Superintendent during their absence.

Responsibilities
- Help with supervision and management of the course team
- Assists in scheduling and planning of the maintenance program
- Hand watering of bent grass greens, as well as part of the weekend hand watering roster
- Assists in planning and implementation of the chemical program
- Irrigation problem solving and repairs
- Excellent communication skills
- Compliance with environmental regulations
- Significant knowledge of turf related chemicals, pests and disease management
- A sound knowledge of irrigation and water management practices
