The opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving participation growth across the Aorangi region. Based locally, the successful candidate will become a part of our regional workforce, leading the implementation of existing Golf New Zealand participation programmes and contributing to the development of other initiatives aimed at increasing participation. In addition, the role will support the organisation of regional events, local interclub competitions and representative programmes.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Participation Manager - South Island, the Participation & Golf Development Coordinator will lead the implementation of existing Golf New Zealand participation initiatives and programmes and support the development of other initiatives to increase the number of people playing golf. This position requires an energetic and skilled individual who can lead others to achieve the outcomes of the role.

Golf New Zealand Korowhā Aotearoa is a not-for-profit incorporated society with charitable status established in 1910 as the governing body for golf in New Zealand responsible for leading, growing and supporting the game. Golf is the most played sport in New Zealand with over half a million Kiwis playing each year at one of the 390 clubs throughout the country.

Specifically, you will:
- Work in close partnership with golf clubs, golf facilities and coaching professionals to provide quality introduction and development programmes in schools, the community, and at golf clubs, that drive increased participation and club membership.
- Support the implementation of Golf New Zealand's range of participation programmes and initiatives across all clubs in the region, with a focus on young people, women and girls, and those with a disability.
- Support the administration of interclub and the district tournament calendar.
- Support the administration and logistics of the Aorangi Golf Representative Programme.
- Build strong relationships with golf club leaders, key sector representatives, and supporting organisations across the district.
- Work with regional stakeholders to maximise the development, funding and support of golf in the region.
- Where required, provide marketing and communications support at a regional level.
- Adhere to our safeguarding and child protection policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Contribute as a member of the team to achieve organisational goals and create a productive team environment.
- Comply with all HSE legislation, regulations, procedures, and systems, and take responsibility for one's own health and safety while at work, ensuring that actions or inactions do not put others at risk.
- Contribute to special projects and perform other duties and activities as required.
- A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable - Coaching, Sport & Recreation, Physical Education.
- Ability to manage time well and stay on task while working independently.
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Is energetic, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and considerate.
