Successful candidates will be part of a dynamic and innovative team of professionals, providing exceptional care and maintenance to the golf course, turf and landscaped environments, its equipment and other amenities. Position is located at Picton Golf & Country Club, 734 County Rd 49, Picton, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of equipment, including but not limited to power mowers, tractors, chainsaws, electric clippers and other landscape tools and equipment.
• On-Course horticulture, including weeding, watering, and tree and shrub pruning and maintenance to other landscaped environments.
• Assist in course set-up, including the maintenance and placement of markers, hole and tee-box identifiers and other on-course features.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements

• Ability to do labour intensive work in an outdoor setting and in varying climate conditions.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work some weekends, shifts and overtime, as assigned.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Good Interpersonal Skills
• Competent in the operation of a variety of vehicle sizes and types.
• Previous experience in golf course maintenance and equipment maintenance is an asset.
• Green patch CSA approved safety boots are required. (6”- 8” inches to cover ankle, suede or leather construction.)

Additional Job Information

• Seasonal job opportunity from mid-April through the end of October. Hours of work: Approx. 15-40 hours/week. 5:30 am to 2:30 pm.
• With availability weekdays and weekends
• Hourly rate: minimum $18.00 with higher rates available for those with prior Successful completion of formal education in turf or golf course maintenance and/or licensed for the industrial use of pesticides for landscape and vegetation extermination are assets.
• Driver’s License is an asset
• Standard First Aid Certificate is an asset.
• Minimum age requirement: 16.
• On-Course work shirts, eye protection and facemasks are supplied.
