KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

A. Maintains the golf course grounds assuring for a clean and safe environment and for positive public relations.
B. Plans, directs and assists with all types of maintenance and groundskeeping projects as needed assuring for completeness and for safety for self and all others.
C. Sets up equipment and any needed items for special events assuring for safety.
D. Attends outside programs and seminars assuring awareness for new developments in the field and assuring continuing professional developments.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Completed high school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
- Ability to interact with a variety of personalities in a positive and professional manner.
- Valid Missouri Driver’s License (Class “B” CDL or higher).
- Public speaking and computer skills.
- At least four years experience in golf course turf management
- Ability to pass state pesticide certification examinations and obtain necessary application license
- In-depth knowledge of turf chemical application
- In-depth knowledge of turf grass species, weed and turf diseases
I. Maintenance Activities

- Deals with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Responds to requests by immediate supervisor in an accurate, complete and timely manner.
- Allows and requires subordinates to perform their jobs with appropriate levels of supervision.
- Maintains an awareness of all departmental expenditures assuring for budget compliance.
- Plans preventative maintenance program. Supervises preventative and corrective maintenance on all equipment assuring for continuing availability of the equipment and for safety.
- Maintains an awareness of and adheres to city policies.
- Assists with selection interviews and recommends finalist assuring that qualified personnel are chosen from the candidate pool.
- Plans and conducts departmental orientations for newly selected personnel.
- Provides direct supervision including coaching and judging of personnel assuring that staff have the support they need to complete their jobs in a professional and timely manner. Provides supervision to direct reports assuring professionalism.
- Provides or recommends training for staff and conducts trouble shooting as needed to solve problems.
- Provides positive corrective action as needed assuring that employees know what is expected of them and the consequences of their performance in accordance with policies.
- Supervises and attains seasonal grounds crews assuring for professionalism.
