Position Summary

The Golf Course Ranger plays a key role in maintaining an exceptional golf experience for members and guests. This position is responsible for monitoring pace of play, enforcing course policies, and providing outstanding customer service while ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and well-managed environment on the course.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor pace of play to ensure rounds are completed within club guidelines
  • Politely and professionally communicate with golfers regarding pace, course etiquette, and club policies
  • Assist members and guests with on-course needs, directions, and general support
  • Enforce golf course rules, including cart regulations, dress code (if applicable), and safety standards
  • Report any course issues (damage, maintenance concerns, safety hazards) to golf operations staff
  • Provide first-line response to minor incidents or emergencies and contact appropriate staff when needed
  • Coordinate with the Golf Shop and Starter to manage tee sheet flow and course traffic
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence on the course at all times
Qualifications
  • Previous golf knowledge required; familiarity with golf etiquette and rules preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully and professionally
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and drive a golf cart for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive hourly wage
  • Golf privileges (based on club policy)
Pay: $11.00 - $16.00 per hour
