Golf Course Construction Superintendent
George E Ley Company is a growing Golf Course Construction & Irrigation Company seeking talented team players. We have been successfully operating for over 50 years and preparing for 50 more. This position is responsible for managing golf course construction projects through supervising and directing the daily activities of crews to accomplish project objectives timely and efficiently by leading by example. In addition, communicating with vendors, sub-contractors and superintendents to keep the project moving towards completion.
PRIMARY DUTIES as a Golf Course Construction Superintendent include but are not limited to:

TRAVEL: out of town travel up to 60%

Golf Course Construction Superintendent
George E Ley Company is a growing Golf Course Construction & Irrigation Company seeking talented team players. We have been successfully operating for over 50 years and preparing for 50 more. This position is responsible for managing golf course construction projects through supervising and directing the daily activities of crews to accomplish project objectives timely and efficiently by leading by example. In addition, communicating with vendors, sub-contractors and superintendents to keep the project moving towards completion.
PRIMARY DUTIES as a Golf Course Construction Superintendent include but are not limited to:
- Observe and direct operations including clearing, earthwork, underground utility construction, drainage ditches, erosion control measure, golf feature construction, grassing and other items as needed.
- Direct and lead work staff including general labor, equipment operators and sub-contractors.
- Plan and develop project schedules.
- Manage quality control.
- Maintain and open line of communication with superintendent, vendors and suppliers as needed
- Identifying and resolving customer concerns with a high sense of urgency
- Maintain project documentation.
- Reporting crew weekly time to payroll
- Work with course Superintendents to provide ongoing communication regarding work progress.
- Problem solve technical and weather-related issues.
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communications skills
- Deadline driven
- Detail oriented
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work on a team and assist others as needed.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in outdoor construction or maintenance
- Valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls
- Sit for long periods of time
- Walk for long periods of time
- repeat the same movements for long periods of time.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
