About the role
The Golf Coach / Cover Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality golf coaching and supporting the school's sports and co-curricular programmes. The role will develop students' golf skills, fitness, confidence, discipline and sportsmanship while promoting a positive and inclusive sporting environment. When not engaged in golf coaching, the post holder may be required to undertake cover teaching and student supervision duties across the school, supporting the continuity of learning when teachers are absent within the agreed part-time hours.

When not engaged in golf coaching, the post holder may be required to undertake cover teaching and student supervision duties across the school, supporting the continuity of learning when teachers are absent within the agreed part-time hours.
Key responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging golf coaching sessions for students of different ages and ability levels, following the established Golf Syllabus provided by the regular Golf Coach
Develop students' fundamental golf skills, including grip, stance, swing, putting, chipping and course management
Adapt coaching techniques and activities according to students' individual abilities and learning needs
Promote good sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and respect
Monitor and provide constructive feedback on students' progress and performance
Prepare students for school internal golf events and fun competitions suitable for beginners
Organise and supervise regular golf practice sessions, basic friendly matches, and ensure student safety at all times
Ensure appropriate safety procedures are followed during all golf activities
Complete a daily Lesson Log after each session detailing lesson topics, key skills, and individual student progress, and upload photos/videos to the designated supervision group
Maintain clear and routine communication with parents regarding class schedules, drop-off/pick-up arrangements, and safety notices
Recognised golf coaching qualification (e.g., PGA, USGTF, or national equivalent certification) or equivalent professional coaching experience
Demonstrable experience coaching golf, preferably with children or young people
Fluency in spoken English for student instruction and clear communication with parents
Proficiency in operating indoor golf simulators (e.g., Trackman) and driving range facilities
Good understanding of golf techniques, rules, etiquette and safety
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with students of different ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds
Ability to manage students positively and maintain appropriate boundaries
Willingness and ability to undertake classroom cover and student supervision duties as per part-time schedule
