*Position:* Seasonal *Stipend:* $2,000 per season *Reports to:* Athletic Director *Position Summary* Southern Wake Academy is seeking a Varsity Men’s Golf Coach to lead its golf program and support the development of student-athletes. The coach will plan practices, prepare players for competition, and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and student safety. *Responsibilities* * Plan and lead practices focused on golf fundamentals, technique, course management, and competitive strategy. * Assess players’ skills and provide instruction that supports individual improvement. * Prepare student-athletes for matches and tournaments and manage team participation. * Coordinate practice and competition logistics with the Athletic Director and golf facilities. * Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and assigned team activities. * Model professional conduct and reinforce expectations for sportsmanship, golf etiquette, respectful behavior, and academic responsibility. * Follow school athletic policies and applicable athletic association rules. * Monitor playing conditions and promptly address or report injuries, weather hazards, and other safety concerns. * Oversee the proper use and care of team equipment. * Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, the Athletic Director, and golf facility staff. * Perform other duties related to the golf program as assigned. *Qualifications* * Knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, etiquette, and competitive strategy. * Previous coaching or competitive golf experience preferred. * Ability to teach, motivate, and build positive relationships with high school student-athletes. * Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. * Availability for practices, matches, and tournaments, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends or travel. * Ability to complete school-required screenings, coaching certifications, and safety training. *Working Conditions* This role involves outdoor practices and competitions in varying weather conditions, walking golf courses, demonstrating golf techniques, supervising student-athletes, and handling team equipment, with reasonable accommodations as appropriate. *Compensation* This seasonal position receives a *$2,000 stipend for the golf season*.
