The Golf Cart Company | Clermont Florida United states
Expires: October 21, 2026
Job Overview
We sell, service, and customize golf carts for homeowners, courses, resorts, and communities across Central Florida. Our shop stays busy year-round, and we're hiring a technician.
Cart experience is great and it'll get you a higher starting wage. But it's not a dealbreaker. If you've turned wrenches on anything — cars, mowers, ATVs, motorcycles, boats, farm equipment — and you're the kind of person who figures things out instead of guessing, we'll train you on carts. Most of what makes a good cart tech is diagnostic sense and patience, and that part you either have or you don't.

Most of what makes a good cart tech is diagnostic sense and patience, and that part you either have or you don't.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair electric carts — 48V and 72V systems, lithium and lead-acid packs, controllers, solenoids, chargers, drive motors, wiring harnesses
- Diagnose and repair gas carts — carburetors and fuel systems, ignition, clutches and drive belts, starter/generators, engine work
- Run pre-delivery inspections on new and used inventory before it goes out the door
- Perform scheduled maintenance: brakes, bearings, suspension, steering, tires, battery watering and load testing
- Install accessories and upgrades — lift kits, wheels and tires, lighting, seat kits, enclosures, audio
- Track down intermittent electrical faults with a multimeter, load tester, and manufacturer diagnostic tools
- Document every repair accurately — what you found, what you did, parts and time
- Explain repairs to customers in plain English when needed
- Keep your bay clean, your tools accounted for, and the shop safe
Requirements
- Genuine mechanical aptitude and a track record of fixing things, in a shop or on your own
- Comfortable using a multimeter, or willing to learn it quickly — electrical work is most of this job
- Reliable and on time, every day. Small shop, so when someone's out everyone feels it
- Valid driver's license and a clean enough record to move carts and drive company vehicles
- Able to lift 50+ lbs, and to bend, kneel, and stay on your feet through a full shift
- Your own basic hand tools (we'll cover the specialty stuff)
- Prior golf cart, powersports, small engine, marine, or automotive repair experience
- Experience with DC electrical systems and reading wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha, ICON, or Evolution
- Lithium battery system experience (BMS diagnostics, pack balancing)
- Welding or fabrication skills for custom builds
- Experience with shop management or work order software
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- 401(k) matching
