Position Overview:

This role requires the successful applicant to work with the Golf Operations Manager in the execution of golf programs, with a focus on: memberships, packages, green fees, leagues, tournaments, and golf tournaments. This role also requires the successful applicant to work with department supervisors in the success of our clubhouse bar and beverage program, as it pertains to Golf Operations. The key responsibilities will be to assist in attending to all facets of the golf shop and clubhouse bar operations, whilst maintaining excellent customer service for all guests.

Job Functions:

• Helps with preparation and execution of the leagues, junior camps, public and private golf tournaments, and member events.
• Greet all customers, whether in person or by phone, and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance, to fulfill green fees, pro shop sales, kitchen sales and bar sales.
• Takes an active role in the execution and selling of golf shop items.
• Monitor the clubhouse bar operations, the replacement of kegs, restocking the fridges, etc. on a daily basis.
• Merchandises and organizes the golf shop retail area (hard goods and apparel) on a daily basis.
• Promotes the company customer loyalty program by applying accurate customer information to all purchases.
• Collects emails and other customer information in order to grow the company’s email and app marketing databases.
• Responsible for creating a safe and healthy environment for golfers of all ages, and playing abilities, by promoting fair play.
• Actively seek out customer comment and feedback in respect of the service provided and at times, encouraged to play with members and other guests to promote the Club.
• Attend team meetings as required.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code.

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of the game of golf.
• Minimum of one (1) year working in a retail customer service role.
• Smart Serve certification.

Skills/Abilities:

• Proven track record being organized, a team player, and holds excellent listening skills.
• Experience with inventory/point of sale systems, and Microsoft excel sheets an asset.
• Ability to lift and place heavy items, such as beer kegs (with the assistance of another staff member)
• Flexible, reliable, outgoing
• Strong client relationship and guest service skills.

Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
