POSITION SUMMARY:
The Outside Golf Staff provides critical service to our members and guests. Usually they are the first Club representatives to meet players when they arrive at the club. This position demands courtesy and empathetic service at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Greet, welcome and assist members and guests as they arrive and leave the club.
- Remove bags from bag storage room and load onto carts. Assist golfers, transfer bags to/from automobile to/from golf carts.
- Give all guests miscellaneous information that may help them in playing the course. (Example: Yardage markers on sprinkler heads are measured to the middle of the green).
- Provide impeccably cleaned and perfectly maintained golf carts to all players. Conduct minor preventative maintenance on golf carts.
- Provide members with thoroughly cleaned and good operating carts that are stocked with towels, scorecards, pencils, and divot sand.
- Ensure that the Cart Room is always clean and orderly.
- Continually service the practice facility. Have the practice tee, target greens, putting greens and chipping greens appropriately set up before play. Continually replenish the supply of practice balls. Patrol the practice tee to pick up trash and empty range baskets or ball bags. Rotate practice tee area in accordance with tee maintenance program. Collect, clean and store balls at the end of play, ensuring that all range balls are in excellent condition at all times by culling damaged balls.
- Assist members and guests as they depart from the facility, ensuring that all golf clubs are cleaned, and that a staff member carries and places golf clubs in members or guest’s vehicle. (Members and guests should not carry or place golf bags in their vehicle.)
- Ensure, by being available, that no member carries his or her clubs in parking and clubhouse areas or practice facilities.
- Return carts to storage facility, remove towels, scorecards, garbage (drink cans etc.) check and replenish pencils, tees and divot sand, wash cart with hose/pressure cleaner, park cart in storage area and connect charger cable.
- Work closely with the Golf Shop Staff to ensure that members and guests follow all club rules including dress code and pace of play policy.
- Operates golf carts and cart shop equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Maintain rental club records and submit charges to golf shop staff for services rendered to members and guests.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Attend scheduled training seminars and department meetings.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company associates and purveyors to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Maintains a professional standard at Glade Springs to include but not limited to: appearance, verbal discussions, written correspondence and interactions with members, associates and guests.
- Does not discuss confidential items with fellow associates or work related issues with members or guests.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Golf.

- Average physical mobility, which may include moving from place to place in all areas of the Resort.
- Average physical agility, which includes standing, sitting, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, seeing, carrying, hearing, talking, thinking, and learning regarding the job.
- Average physical strength to handle office materials and tools.
- Average physical strength to handle less than 50 pound objects.
