*The Opportunity* The Falls Golf Club is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team and help care for one of British Columbia’s unique mountain golf courses. Set above the Fraser Valley, The Falls is a property unlike most found in the Lower Mainland. Dramatic elevation changes, changing weather conditions and a diverse landscape make every day a little different, creating an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys the craft of golf course maintenance. Working closely with our Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will play an important hands-on role in daily course preparation, staff leadership and the execution of our agronomic programs. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, enjoys being part of a team and wants to continue developing their knowledge and career in the turf industry. *Key Responsibilities* * Assist the Superintendent with the daily planning and execution of golf course maintenance. * Help lead, schedule and support the grounds team throughout daily operations. * Participate directly in course setup and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, rough and surrounding landscapes. * Monitor turf conditions and assist with fertility, cultural practices and pest-management programs. * Assist with irrigation operation, troubleshooting, repairs and water management. * Apply fertilizers and plant-protection products safely and accurately. * Help maintain accurate records for applications, weather, irrigation and maintenance activities. * Assist with staff training and promote safe, efficient work practices. * Support equipment, material and inventory management. * Play an active role in course improvement projects and long-term improvements to the property. * Step into a leadership role for the Turf Care Team, running daily morning meetings. *Qualifications* * Previous golf course maintenance experience, with supervisory or leadership responsibility. * Turfgrass Management education is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered. * Good working knowledge of turf maintenance practices, irrigation and equipment. * BC Landscape Pesticide Applicator License, or willingness and ability to obtain one. * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. * Strong organization and communication skills. * A positive, hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the team. * Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and holidays as required by golf course operations.
