Golf Shop Assistant Position Description

Safety Sensitive Position - must be 21 years of age.

Provide exceptional customer service to all golf customers. Reports to the Director of Golf Services.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

• Follow established opening and closing procedures.
• Check in golf customers.
• Inform customers about the facility (i.e., prices, sales promotions, special events, hours of operation, etc.)
• Maintain a neat and clean environment in the golf shop and cart barn.
• Answer telephone and set up tee times.
• Sell and promote merchandise, assist with inventory, restock merchandise.
• Comply with established procedures for cash drawer.
• Keep golf shop clean.
• Secure money in safe.
• Sell beer to customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to remain calm during difficult customer situations and adapt to individual circumstances or needs.
• Team player who can think creatively and voice ideas for continuous improvement.

EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• 6 months of retail experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature will vary depending on location.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Due to the nature of the industry, the Golf Shop Assistant may be required to work varying schedules due to business needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
