Box Hill golf club is a picturesque 18 hole private members club situated in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We currently have a full time position available for an Apprentice Greenkeeper (Cert 3 in Horticulture Sports Turf Management)
The Successful applicant will be reporting to the Course Superintendent, your primary purpose is to participate as an active and enthusiastic member of the grounds maintenance team. You will assist with course set-up, use of machinery, renovations and utilise skills and knowledge as developed through formal and work place training.
You would be required to undertake an apprenticeship and be prepared to complete studies in Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. The key tasks include:
• Engage in a variety of work throughout the Golf Course.
• Participate in the maintenance, renovation and reconstruction of turf and garden areas and playing surfaces.
• Attend Tafe classes as required and make every effort to maximize educational opportunities.
The Applicant will be required to show a:
• Willingness to undertake studies in Certificate III in Turf Management
• A genuine interest in horticulture or green keeping.
• Manual drivers license desirable.
We require a hard working team player with plenty of initiative to join our existing committed team. You will be required to work a minimum of 38 hours per week.
