JOB TITLE: Winter Snowmaking | Golf and Grounds Summer
JOB SUMMARY: During winter months make snow during evenings and nights from 4:00pm – 12:00am. Overtime needed when necessary. Working in outside environment with cold, water, and snow. Will train the right person who is willing to learn and adapt. When snowmaking is over full time work still available with golf and grounds. Full 18-hole golf course to maintain along with grounds, trails and projects around 5,000+ acre hotel and resort. Experience in snowmaking, ski areas, golf, equipment operations and landscaping a plus but not necessary.
REPORTS TO: Ski Area Operations Manager/Golf Course Superintendent
PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
1. Check and maintain snow guns and snowmaking system when in use.
2. Keep ice and snow off snow guns and make quality snow for ski area.
3. Move and maintain snow guns depending on temperature, wind and location.
4. Off season golf course and grounds projects not limited to: drainage work, tree work, site work, irrigation work, dirt and site work.
5. In season golf and grounds functions are using equipment to mow and maintain a high-quality golf course. Equipment used but not limited to: numerous types of green, rough, fairway mowers, blowers, tractors, skid steer, excavator, dump trucks and pickup trucks.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Must have a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Willing to train the right person but prior golf, equipment, ski experience a plus.
PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS: Willing to adapt and learn. Willing to work a non-standard schedule that at times requires overtime and being outside for long periods of time. Work well with team members. Punctuality and attendance are highly important.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Working outside in all elements of weather. Able to lift 50+ lbs. Able to work in nighttime conditions with a head lamp and minimal lighting. Able to understand and adhere to safety and training.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Outside. All weather conditions.
HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED: All elements of weather. High pressure water. Around high voltage electric. Rough, slippery and uneven surfaces. Mowing equipment, tractors, heavy equipment. Moving parts and machinery.
