Job Description
The Golf Ambassador is responsible for delivering an exceptional golfing experience by providing outstanding customer service, on-course assistance, and operational support to members and guests. This role assists golfers throughout their round, ensures compliance with golf course rules and etiquette, maintains pace of play, promotes player safety, and supports the overall condition and presentation of the golf course.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Golfer Experience & Customer Service
  • Welcome, assist, and engage members and guests in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
  • Carry, transport, and manage golfers bags and equipment throughout the round.
  • Assist golfers with club selection, course strategy, distances, and local course knowledge where appropriate.
  • Provide accurate information on course layout, local rules, hazards, and daily course conditions.
  • Locate golf balls during play and clean golf clubs and golf balls as required.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to golfers requests while promoting a positive golfing experience.
Golf Operations & Course Management
  • Welcome golfers at the first tee and provide a briefing on local rules, course conditions, pace of play expectations, and club policies.
  • Maintain accurate player records and communicate effectively with the Golf Shop, Club Concierge, and Golf Operations team.
  • Monitor and maintain an acceptable pace of play by assisting and advising golfers throughout the course.
  • Enforce golf etiquette, local rules, and club policies in a professional and courteous manner.
Course Care & Maintenance Support
  • Repair ball marks, replace divots, rake bunkers, and encourage golfers to follow proper course etiquette.
  • Ensure sand bottles are filled, replace hazard stakes or directional signage when required, and remove litter from the course.
  • Report any course damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards promptly to the Golf Operations team.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of work areas and golf equipment.
Safety & Compliance
  • Monitor weather conditions and implement lightning and emergency evacuation procedures when required.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for on-course incidents, emergencies, unsafe play, or golfer disputes, escalating issues to management where necessary.
  • Report pace-of-play delays, disciplinary matters, accidents, and operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Handle golfers equipment with care and assist with loading and unloading golf bags from buggies or storage areas.
  • Adhere to all club policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and wear the prescribed uniform at all times.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management in support of club operations.
