Overview
We have an opening for a General Manager at Beerwah & District Memorial Golf Club, (the Club), which is located within the fastest-growing community in Australia, the Sunshine Coast.
The General Manager will drive the planned strategic growth and development of the Cub and its business.
The position reports to and is supported by an astute Board.
About Beerwah Golf Club
Whilst maintaining and improving the golf course remains a strong focus guided by our Course Development Plan, the Board has developed an ambitious Strategic Plan aimed at expanding the Club’s business portfolio.
This includes but is not limited to upgrading our Club House and identifying complementary businesses that have the twofold effect of providing greater engagement with the community and increasing the Club’s revenue, which in turn provides opportunities for continuous growth.
The successful applicant will be supported by a highly motivated operations and administration team, as well as having overall responsibility for the greens staff lead by our Course Superintendent.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will embody a blend of strategic acumen, operational experience, marketing & promotions expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
They should effortlessly connect with staff, members, and the community, building strong, positive relationships. Their leadership will be instrumental in setting and enhancing the club’s culture.
This role requires a leader who can balance executive responsibilities with genuine community interaction. A proven background in golf club management, or similar, will be well regarded.

Responsibilities
- Leading best practice standards in WHS and Human Resources management.
- Provide visionary leadership, maintaining and enhancing the club’s culture
- Collaborate with the board to develop and execute long-term growth plans
- Engage regularly with staff and members to foster a dynamic and positive environment
- Oversee daily operations across our gaming and Food & Beverage business, and general member services, ensuring exceptional service and member satisfaction.
- Drive strong corporate governance compliance.
- Identify areas of corporate risk and implement risk management plans.
- Develop the Club’s business plan, and manage budgets, inventory, and supplies to maintain operational efficiency and drive profitability
- Engage with local organisations and social events to build and maintain strong community ties
- Develop relationships and engage with the relevant government agencies on matters relevant to the Club
- Guide the strategic plan and oversee major developments and works within the club and on the course.

- A highly experienced Manager working in a golf or similar member-based Club environment.
- Possess strong business acumen : Experienced in financial analysis and management, budgeting, and strategic planning
- Operationally Skilled : adept at overseeing operational activities, including gaming, food and beverage services, member services and infrastructure development.
- Community-Oriented : Committed to building strong personal and commercial relationships within the community
- An engaging Leader : Capable of creating a team environment and fostering a positive culture through active participation and mentoring
- Strategic / Visionary : Skilled in proactively being engaged in the development and implementation of strategic plans. Identifying opportunities that drive growth and align with long-term goals
- Project Management : Experienced in leading significant developments and providing oversight of infrastructure projects.
