Gas & Electric Golf Cart Repair Technician

Shop & Mobile Service | Golf Cart Mech

About Us

Golf Cart Mech specializes in the repair, maintenance, and sale of electric and gasoline-powered golf carts. We take pride in quality workmanship, dependable service, and getting our customers back on the road.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Gas & Electric Golf Cart Repair Technician to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in our shop and at customer locations.

The ideal candidate can troubleshoot independently, manage assigned work efficiently, and complete reliable repairs with attention to detail. This position requires both strong technical ability and accountability for keeping repair work moving through the shop.

Performance & Shop Workflow Expectations

Technicians must consistently meet established weekly and monthly productivity, repair-flow, and quality standards. Performance is measured by completed repair work, timely diagnostics, repair turnaround, accurate work-order documentation, and the quality and reliability of completed repairs.

You will be expected to follow assigned priorities, maintain current job-status updates, and promptly communicate parts needs or other issues that could delay completion. Individual productivity and contribution to the shop’s overall repair flow are both important parts of this position.

Specific targets and evaluation criteria will be reviewed during the hiring and onboarding process. Job complexity and documented delays involving parts availability or customer approvals are considered when evaluating performance. Production goals never take priority over safety, required approvals, or quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair gas and electric golf carts, including engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, batteries, charging systems, steering, suspension, and mechanical and hydraulic brakes.
  • Perform routine maintenance, component replacements, major repairs, and rebuilds as assigned.
  • Complete mobile service calls, including diagnostics, repairs, and battery replacements at customer locations.
  • Organize and complete assigned repairs efficiently, follow shop priorities, and help prevent avoidable delays or stalled work orders.
  • Maintain accurate digital work orders, including diagnostic findings, repair notes, parts and labor used, supporting photos, and current job status.
  • Communicate recommended repairs and parts needs to office staff, and explain technical findings to customers when needed. Complete work only after required authorization.
  • Verify completed repairs and prepare carts for final quality control and customer handoff, including washing and detailing as needed.
  • Safely drive a truck with a 20-foot trailer, secure loads, and assist with loading, unloading, pickups, and deliveries.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area, service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
Requirements
  • Proven hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing both gasoline-powered and electric golf carts.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of batteries, charging systems, electrical circuits, engines, drivetrains, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
  • Proficiency with multimeters, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and other standard repair equipment.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that meets commercial insurance requirements. Ability to safely drive, back, and maneuver a truck with a 20-foot trailer is required.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, follow repair priorities, use a digital work-order system, and meet established performance expectations.
  • Dependability, clear communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to completing repairs correctly—not simply quickly.
  • Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
  • Opportunities for career growth.
  • Friendly, supportive work environment.
