Join the RedWater family! We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Event Captain / Supervisor to join our Macatawa Golf Club team. We have 9 event venues, as well as 10 restaurants, 8 golf courses, and 5 country club pools with cafés and bar. Our event venues include:
The Event / Banquet Captain or Supervisor is responsible for overseeing events, handling and delegating set-up and breakdown of function rooms, and taking care of clients in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner. They will also be responsible for managing all banquet servers in a constructive and positive manner.
The Event Captain will need to be detail oriented, great at multitasking, have a strong work ethic with core values. The schedule consists of days, nights, weekends, and some holidays and will vary on a weekly basis based on business volume and event schedules. Our ideal Event Captain will have at least 1 year of experience, have a teamwork mentality, and a positive attitude.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct pre-function meeting with servers and review all information pertinent to setup and service of function.
- Review banquet event order (BEO) with Event Manager or Manager On Duty and assure all details have been addressed.
- Meet with the event host and introduce the staff, discuss the room setup, discuss the schedule to assure no adjustments have been made, and accommodate any last-minute changes to the event logistics as a whole.
- Meet with the Event Manager or Manager On Duty and banquet chefs to discuss the timing for food service, the location all food and any changes made by the client.
- Check buffet tables and other event setups for cleanliness, attractiveness, and layout.
- Ensure replenishment of food and beverages as specified on the banquet event orders.
- Ensure that unused food is returned to the kitchen, designated condiments are broken down and properly stored (butters, cream, dressings, etc.), and all banquet supplies are returned to designated storage areas.
- Provide feedback and report disciplinary problems on staff performance to the manager and participate in the counseling of employees.
- Foster and promote a cooperative working climate to maximize productivity and employee morale.
- Complete all closing duties in accordance with departmental standards.
- Anticipate customers’ needs, respond promptly, and seek the Event Manager or Manager On Duty's input when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and local procedures regarding handling and serving alcohol.
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to Event Manager immediately.
- Ensure all closing duties for staff are completed before staff check out.
