Founded in 1907 the Warragul Country Club has a rich tradition and history and having played a significant role in the local community for more than century. The Club enjoys a unique brand as a premier golf and entertainment venue in Regional Victoria and the local community. A high activation venue, the Club has over 5000 Social Members with approximately 750 additional Golf Members.
The Club boasts a challenging 18-hole golf course, complemented by a state-of-the-art short game facility and indoor Trackman that both provide outstanding training and coaching resources for Members and guests. Located in Warragul, Gippsland, the club is just 100km from the Melbourne CBD.
Each year the Club hosts a successful PGA Pro Am, PGA Gippsland Super Six, several district events and has an extensive golf programme for its Members.
About the role
The Director of Golf will be responsible for all Golf operations and will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent, Management and the Golf Committee’s. The role reports direct to the CEO.

About the role

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Competition management
- Growing golf membership and sponsorship and retention of same, consistent with the Golf Australia, Warragul Country Club and Golf West Gippsland strategic plans.
- Lead the programs & policies to grow non-member golf participation
- Pro shop operations (retail and merchandising, overall profitability, including the management of pro shop staff)
- Driving outstanding customer service by leading our Loyalty Zone training program
- Lead, coach & develop the Pro Shop team
- Member storage services
- Golf Course yield maximisation
- Development of training programs for all levels and types of golfers
- Provide a high level of support and direction to the Golf Committees
The successful candidate will:
- Be an accredited PGA professional with an advanced status in two or more categories of the ACE program (experience in a similar role is desirable)
- High level of business professionalism
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Experience with MiClub software is desirable
- Experience in golf club fittings and management of a high-volume retail Pro Shop
- Event management & delivery experience
- Leading the development and implementation of strategies to continually develop and grow the sport of golf
It is preferred applicants possess the following accreditations, or are willing to acquire these early into the start date:
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Working with Vulnerable people
- First Aid level 2
