Job Description:
Dromoland Castle Resort one of Ireland's most prestigious five star hotels is seeking a guest focused and strategic Director of Golf to join our dedicated team.
As Director of Golf, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the Golf Club, including:
A key focus of the role will be building strong relationships with our members and creating a welcoming, engaging and professionally managed Golf Club environment.
You will be highly visible and accessible to members, taking the time to understand their needs and expectations and ensuring feedback is acted upon.
You will lead initiatives designed to increase member participation, engagement and retention while ensuring new members receive a warm welcome and a positive introduction to the Golf Club.
Membership, Societies & Corporate Golf
You will be responsible for developing opportunities to grow the Club's membership base and commercial golf business.
This will include:
The successful candidate will be a confident and visible leader who can balance the operational requirements of a busy Golf Club with a strong commercial focus.
You will work closely with other Resort departments to develop and deliver the Golf Club's business plan and longer-term strategy.
You will have responsibility for budgets, forecasting, revenue performance and identifying opportunities to improve the commercial performance and operational efficiency of the Golf Club.

- Golf operations and the day-to-day running of the Golf Club
- Member experience, engagement and retention
- Membership development and new member acquisition
- Golf societies, corporate golf and tournaments
- Tee-time management and player flow
- Golf Professional and professional services
- Golf Shop operations and commercial performance
- Golf Reception and administration
- Driving range, practice facilities and associated golf facilities
- Golf Stewards and wider Golf Club team
- Collaboration with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding course presentation and member feedback
- Golf sales, marketing and revenue development
- Budgeting, forecasting and commercial performance
- Team leadership, training and development

- Developing repeat business and long-term commercial relationships
- Leading the planning and delivery of tournaments, competitions, society days and corporate golf events
- Maximising appropriate green fee opportunities while maintaining the right balance between members, resort guests and visiting golfers

- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Strong leadership and people management capability
- The ability to work collaboratively across a wider Resort environment
