Full job description
Mississaugua Golf & Country Club (MGCC), one of Canada’s premier private all-season golf clubs, is seeking a Director of Golf.

One of Canada’s oldest and most storied golf clubs, MGCC has embraced change over the years to meet members’ evolving needs and expectations, and to attract new members. We are committed to remaining true to our traditional values while continuously evolving to stay current within the changing private club market.

The Club is dedicated to continually enhancing its golf course and property. Currently, a tee renovation project is underway. Recently, our members have also enjoyed the beautifully renovated dining patio, which has elevated their dining experience. Over the past three years, significant improvements have been made to our tee complexes, focusing on expanding tee areas, regrassing surfaces, installing curbing, and enhancing the aesthetics of the cart paths.

Position Details

An integral member of the Senior Management Team and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will operate our golf operations at high service levels as expected by our membership and guests. Mississaugua has had significant recent capital upgrades in our clubhouse as well as the addition of forward tees and a complete bunker renovation last year.



Position Summary

As a key member of our Senior Management team, our Director of Golf will play a pivotal role in exceeding the expectations of our members and upholding the long-standing values of traditionalism that make us a leader in the industry. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for overseeing our golf operations, ensuring the high service levels expected by our members and guests.



Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this coveted role will present the opportunity to:
  • Manage the entire golf operation, including the Pro Shop, practice range, indoor year- round golf facility, merchandising of inventory, employee training, teaching and academy programs
  • Enthusiastically promote the game of golf and excellence in every member and guest experience at MG&CC
  • Lead and advance our comprehensive teaching program, including clinics and private instruction.
  • Direct and organize all golf activities, including member and invitational events/tournaments, practice range facility, game reservation program, back shop and cart operations
  • Build and manage a strong team of golf professionals, pro shop staff and back shop team members and actively engage and promote learning and development opportunities for staff relating to golf
  • Be a visionary leader, demanding respect and representing the Club with pride in support of our image and traditions
  • Manage golf-related administration and financial activities such as budgeting and reporting
  • Actively participate in golf committees, external events and conferences and serve as an ambassador in the industry


Professional qualifications
  • Related experience in a high-end Golf & Country Club environment.
  • Demonstrated member service orientation with a commitment to exceeding expectations
  • Post-secondary degree or PGM college diploma
  • Business sense as it relates to Pro Shop management within a private golf club.
  • Class “A” professional capable of playing at a high level
  • Member in good standing with the PGA of Canada
  • Strong leadership and relationship building attributes
  • Collaborative contributor to the Senior Management team with a Club-wide perspective and focus.
  • Commitment to excellence in all aspects of the game of golf
  • Organization & promotion of events / tournaments
  • Understanding of teaching and instruction
  • Ability to tactfully enforce the rules and regulations of golf and of the Club
