Overview :

Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club, one of New Zealand’s premier golfing destinations, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Golf to lead our golf operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the overall golf experience for our members and guests. If you are a passionate and innovative leader with a deep understanding of the golf industry, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Responsibilities :

Leadership and Management :


Provide strategic leadership for the golf department, setting and achieving goals to elevate the overall golf experience.
  • Oversee and manage a team of golf operations staff and maintain our strong and collaborative relationship with the golf coaching team.
  • Member and Guest Services :
Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining high standards for the golf shop, and related facilities.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for members and guests, creating memorable experiences.
  • Tournament and Event Management :
Plan and execute golf tournaments and events, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless operations in-line with the history and traditions of Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract external outings and international visitors.
  • Financial Management :
Develop and manage the golf budget, optimising revenue streams and controlling costs effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth through innovative programs and services.
  • Course Maintenance and Improvement :
Collaborate with the Director of Agronomy to ensure the golf course is maintained to the highest standards.

Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives for course improvement.


It is essential that the successful candidate possess the following attributes :
  • Strong organisation and time-keeping skills.
  • Have a service orientated approach to Members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Members.
  • Have an excellent command of the English language.
  • Have a professional and positive attitude, with a personable approach to fellow team and Club Members.
Qualifications :
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within the golf industry.
  • Proven track record of successful golf operations management.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of golf industry trends and best practices.
  • Club management industry qualifications (BMI or MDP) are essential.
  • Applications must possess the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
