Coordinator Burnley Golf Course
Permanent - Full Time (Flexible)
Band 7 - $103,821.73 ($105,898.17 from 1 July 2024) + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)
Yarra has an exciting opportunity to lead the Burnley Golf Course Team. The Coordinator Burnley Golf Course plays a significant role in the operational and strategic direction of Burnley Golf Course. This position has a broad scope of responsibilities, including managing Burnley golf course operations, overseeing the pro shop and turf maintenance teams, driving golf participation outcomes and monitoring financial performance of the golf course.
This opportunity will suit a professional who has knowledge and competency in the areas of Golf Course/Leisure Management within a local government context. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated experience in facility management, effectively leading teams, a strong understanding of the golf industry and be strategically minded. The candidate should also be a team player, self-motivated, outcome focused, have a high attention to detail and wanting to further enhance their existing skills in the field of Leisure Management.
One of the key components within the position is leading two separate teams at Burnley Golf course. This includes greenkeeping staff that oversee all aspects of the course maintenance and a team of golf services officers who are responsible for servicing customers attending the course, the sale of memberships, lessons, refreshments and golf equipment. Furthermore, this role oversees the relationship with the two existing golf clubs, contract management of the PGA Professional and the procurement of all goods and services.

- Lead a positive, inclusive culture that values and develops people, promotes high performance, is customer focussed and accountable and reflects the values of City of Yarra.
- Implement effective people management practices that build a strong team culture and provides high quality facility operations and service provision.
- Oversee the recruitment, management, development and performance of staff to optimize satisfaction and productivity.
- Implement effective financial management practices.
- Oversee the development, implementation and reporting mechanisms of the annual budget to ensure budget targets are achieved.
