Building Maintenance / Golf Course Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent
Status: Full-Time
Position Summary
Royal Palm Golf Club is seeking a dependable, skilled Building Maintenance / Golf Course Maintenance Technician to help maintain the Club’s buildings, facilities, and grounds. This position is responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the clubhouse, maintenance facilities, outbuildings, and other Club structures. The position will also provide support to the Golf Course Maintenance Department as needed to ensure the golf course and surrounding grounds are maintained to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual who takes pride in maintaining a first-class private club environment, can work independently, and is willing to assist with a variety of maintenance duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Building & Facility Maintenance
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods and safely operate or work around maintenance equipment, tools, vehicles, and machinery.
Work Environment
This position works both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to heat, humidity, rain, insects, chemicals, dust, noise, and other conditions associated with building and golf course maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Building & Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the clubhouse, maintenance buildings, restrooms, storage areas, and other Club facilities.
- Inspect buildings and facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns.
- Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repair work.
- Maintain doors, locks, fixtures, hardware, lighting, and other building components.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and routine inspections of building systems and equipment.
- Maintain exterior areas of buildings, including pressure washing, painting, minor repairs, and general upkeep.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of irrigation, pumps, drainage, and other facility-related systems as appropriate.
- Keep maintenance areas, workshops, storage areas, and equipment organized and clean.
- Communicate larger repair needs or issues requiring outside contractors to the Golf Course Superintendent.
- Provide backup and additional support to the Golf Course Maintenance team as needed.
- Assist with mowing, trimming, edging, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance.
- Assist with irrigation repairs and maintenance.
- Help maintain cart paths, bridges, drainage areas, landscaping, and other course-related structures.
- Operate golf course maintenance equipment and utility vehicles safely and properly.
- Assist with storm cleanup, debris removal, and preparation of the golf course and facilities following severe weather.
- Perform other golf course maintenance duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facility maintenance, construction, landscaping, golf course maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate repairs.
- Experience operating maintenance equipment and hand/power tools.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, humid, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required.
- Valid Florida driver's license and a safe driving record preferred.
- Golf course or private club experience is a plus.
