Who We Are: The Galway Bay Golf Resort is a next-level 18-hole golf course in Oranmore that looks out on gorgeous Galway Bay. Offering beautiful views of the amazing scenery, it provides an exceptional golfing experience that attracts people from far and wide.

Purpose of the role: To aid in the delivery of the highest possible standard turf playing surfaces whilst working with the environment and overall goals set out by the company.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
  • Assist with overseeing daily operations of the golf course
  • Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers
  • Assist in the programming, repair and maintenance of irrigations systems
  • Assist in the supervision and application of pesticides and fertilisers
  • Assist with the training and development of greenkeeping team
  • Assist with formulating and implementing annual course renovation projects
  • Assist with compiling annual budgets and forecasts
  • Assist in establishing, promoting and enforcing safety practices in accordance with company and legislative guidelines
  • Take an active role in the golf course sustainability and environmental initiatives
  • Deputise for the Golf Course Superintendent in his absence
  • Continues own educational development and remains knowledgeable of latest industry practices and trends
  • Maintain a good standard of record keeping as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent
  • Use record keeping software to build data and run reports

  • Desire to build effective relationships with colleagues, managers, supervisors, and members
  • Comfortable with the use of technology such as moisture meters and other data collection tools.
Professional requirements and Experience:
  • Minimum QQI Level 6 Turf Management Certification
  • PA 1, PA2 and PA 6, Spray Certification
  • Working knowledge of irrigation systems
  • Ability to promote a collaborative working environment advocating a one team ethos.
  • Minimum of 5 years at Senior Greenkeeper level
  • Working knowledge of golf course equipment
  • Computer skills to basic Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: €35,000.00-€38,000.00 per year
