About Us
X-Golf Australia is the market-leading indoor golf and entertainment venue brand in Australia.
Each year, tens of thousands of customers attend X-Golf venues nationwide, making it the most recognised and established brand in the category.
X-Golf North Lakes combines world-class simulator technology, an 18-hole Hey Caddy mini-golf experience, premium hospitality, bar service, food service, functions, leagues, golf tuition and a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
Our service philosophy is simple: create a venue people talk about when they leave.
We want X-Golf North Lakes to feel alive, personal, memorable and relentlessly operationally sharp. Our leaders are expected to lead with energy, ownership, hospitality, accountability and emotional connection, while also driving disciplined commercial performance.
We are guided by clear operating values:
· Exceptional, customer-centred service
· A supportive and inclusive team culture
· Integrity and accountability in leadership
· High performance balanced with positive team experience
· Clean, professional and well-presented venues
· Commercial discipline and KPI accountability
· Creating memorable, high-quality guest experiences
The Role
This is a hands-on venue leadership role within an established and respected national brand.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, commercial performance, staff culture and guest experience of X-Golf and Hey Caddy North Lakes.
This is not a passive management role. The successful applicant will be expected to be highly visible on the floor, actively engage customers, coach staff in real time, solve problems quickly and maintain a venue that is consistently show ready.
Your focus will be to assist the Venue Manager of the venue to operate with precision, pace and professionalism during both peak and off-peak periods.
You will lead the team, manage rosters, drive customer engagement, grow functions and competitions, support food and beverage performance, control labour and stock, and build strong relationships with local businesses, schools, sporting clubs and community groups.
Core Expectations
The Assistant Venue Manager is expected to create a high-energy venue culture where staff anticipate customer needs rather than simply respond to requests.
You will be expected to:
· Deliver hospitality that feels personal, energetic, memorable and above expectation
· Ensure every customer interaction reflects warmth, attentiveness, professionalism and genuine enthusiasm
· Create moments of surprise and delight that turn customers into loyal advocates
· Maintain exceptional standards across cleanliness, lighting, technology, music, furniture, simulator performance, food and beverage presentation and overall atmosphere
· Ensure the venue feels premium, organised and ready for trade every day
· Build routines and systems that create operational consistency
· Solve operational problems quickly, calmly and proactively
· Lead with visibility, positivity, accountability and high personal standards
· Train staff in customer engagement, upselling, event execution and premium hospitality delivery
· Promote a high-energy environment where team members actively engage customers rather than passively serve them
Key Responsibilities
· Lead daily venue operations across X-Golf and Hey Caddy
· Maintain excellent venue presentation, cleanliness and atmosphere
· Drive revenue growth across functions, corporate events, X-League, competitions, lessons, memberships, food and beverage and casual bookings
· Improve customer engagement, repeat visitation and enquiry conversion
· Build relationships with local businesses, schools, sporting clubs and community groups
· Position the venue as a community hub, not simply an entertainment facility
· Manage food and beverage standards, stock control and ordering
· Ensure POS, booking systems and operational reporting are accurate
· Maintain RSA, food safety and compliance requirements
· Work closely with the Venue Manager, Operations Manager and X-Golf Australia support teams
Value Metrics
Success in this role will be measured across both commercial and cultural performance.
Key value metrics include:
· Manage X-League and competition participation
· Membership and lesson growth
· Hey Caddy performance
· Repeat visitation and customer satisfaction
· Lead conversion and enquiry follow-up
· Food and beverage performance
· Venue presentation and cleanliness
· Staff engagement, retention and accountability
· Quality of event execution
· Local partnership development
· Speed and ownership in resolving operational issues
The right person will understand that a great venue is built through hundreds of small details, repeated with care, urgency and consistency.
About You
You are a confident hospitality, entertainment or assistant manager
You understand that customers remember how a venue made them feel, not just what they purchased.
You likely bring:
· 2+ years in hospitality, entertainment, leisure, bar, retail or assistant venue management
· Strong customer service and guest engagement skills
· Ability to drive revenue through events, functions and local partnerships
· Strong communication and personal accountability
· Availability across evenings, weekends and peak trading periods
· Current RSA or ability to obtain before commencement
