Position Title: 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Reports to: Head Golf Course Superintendent

Supervises: Seasonal Grounds Staff

General Summary: The 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will aid the Head Superintendent and 1stAssistant Superintendent in all areas of golf course maintenance and management. We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent who wants to increase their knowledge and achieve their goals in the turfgrass maintenance business by developing strong leadership skills and the ability to be a good communicator in a team driven atmosphere. Our team is built on respect, efficiency, quality, and a sense of work-life balance while providing the finest golf course conditions possible on a daily basis for our members and their guests. We want to help grow and coach all professionals that walk through the door as a staff member to eventually advance in their career and reach their goals. The previous 2nd Assistant Superintendent moved on to a Head Superintendent role in the area.

Experience Required

• Valid drivers license;
• Current Nebraska Pesticide Applicators License or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hiring;
• Associates degree or certification from a university or technical school in Turfgrass, Sports and Commercial, Landscape or Agronomy Management is preferred;
• Previous golf course experience preferred;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Reputation for quality and attention to detail;
• Ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends as demanded by seasonal business cycles;

Essential Responsibilities

• Assists with daily course set up and completes hand watering assignments as needed
• Works with Superintendent and 1st Assistant Superintendent with chemical and fertilizer applications and calibration
• Assists and, in the absence of the Superintendent and 1st Assistant Superintendent, leads and provides supervision over the grounds staff, including training and direction
• Assists with irrigation repair and maintenance
• Works with the Superintendent and 1st Assistant Superintendent on daily and weekly planning
• Promote golf club and maintain high profile, professionalism, and services to members and guests.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized golf course grounds
• Stay updated with the current knowledge on golf course operations and setup
• Train employees in departmental policies and regulations

Compensation & Benefits

• Full Time Salary position
• $40,000-$43,000 Salary based on work experience.
