ABOUT THE CLUB:
Quail Valley is a private golf club that was designed and built in 2001 by Tom Fazio II and Nick Price. A bold plan that involved moving over 3 million cubic yards of material resulted in a masterpiece links style golf course with striking elevation changes and grand vistas unlike anything else in the local region. This is a pure golf club at its best with no residential homes on site. In addition to our 18-hole course, we designed and built a 15-acre Par 3 Course and short game area with Tom Fazio II in 2021.
Golf Club Highlights
The Pointe at Quail Valley was built in 2016 as our third feature property. Here we offer 25 luxury overnight guest suites as well as fine dining and two separate lounges for enjoying cocktails, live music and your favorite sporting events.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Coaching – the number one priority of the Assistant Superintendent is to coach staff to be thoughtful and productive on a consistent basis. Identifying and improving operational efficiencies is paramount to being an effective coach. You will be expected to challenge staff in an encouraging manner to always be improving.
- Participative Leadership – lead by example always and be willing to execute tasks personally because you care and want to achieve more.
- Scheduling/Meeting Plan – our team meets twice daily – morning and after lunch. You will be expected to develop daily schedules and lead team meetings in collaboration with other assistants and head superintendent.
- Proactive Follow up/Communication – communication is the key to greatness. Daily follow up with team, EM, Superintendent is required.
- Schedule – typical work weeks – Monday through Thursday 5:30 – 3:00, Friday 5:30 –
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certificate, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in turf management or related field.
- Prefer 5 years high end golf club experience, but willing to consider less for those with exemplary performance results.
- Fundamental golf course maintenance competencies are required such as all equipment operation, pesticide/fertility applications, course setup, hand watering, and irrigation repair and enhancements, basic knowledge of irrigation pumps, wells, and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of turf fertility, water management, plant protectants, growth regulators with a foundational understanding of rates/timing/safety procedures related to a wide variety of applications.
- Knowledge of the game of golf and the impact our decisions have on course playability.
- Basic communication skills – engaging communicator 7 days/week with email/texts/phone calls.
- Current Florida T&O Pesticide License, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Develop your leadership potential as you will be immersed in a high expectation culture and be expected to drive/encourage/motivate a very diverse group of people.
- Prepare you to be a head superintendent as you will be expected to fulfill that role in the golf course superintendent’s absence.
- Train your mind to think broadly about business strategy and growth as you will be a significant contributor to multi-million dollar capital projects.
- Enhance your professional network through face-to-face interactions with vendors, consultants, and network professionals through attendance at trade shows, chapter events, golf tournaments, and opportunities to volunteer at tour events.
