POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Full Time skilled and Assistant Superintendent for Golf Course Maintenance. Responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of golf course maintenance for a 36-hole facility, including daily operations, team supervision, irrigation management, agronomic programs, and long-term course improvement initiatives. Works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and, at times, collaborates with the agronomy and Grounds Director.

SOME ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assists in all aspects of golf course maintenance and operations across the property.

· Leads and manages daily maintenance activities, including employee supervision, scheduling, and task delegation.

· Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, and development of golf maintenance employees.

· Helps foster a strong, positive team culture built on accountability, communication, collaboration, and mutual respect.

· Participates in project planning, execution, and long-term course improvement initiatives.

· Assists in planning and executing daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, lakes, landscape areas, and clubhouse grounds.

· Plays a key role in agronomic programs including fertilizer and pesticide applications, aeration, seeding, topdressing, and course setup.

· Applies and supervises the application of fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with the agronomic plan, seasonal requirements, and golf schedule.

· Operates, calibrates, and maintains spray and fertilizer equipment with a strong focus on safety and precision.

· Calculates product rates and acreages for accurate chemical and fertilizer applications.

· Maintains accurate records for pesticide applications, inventory, and regulatory compliance.

· Monitors irrigation system performance and water usage both in the field and through the central control computer system.

· Supports efficient irrigation management and water conservation practices to maximize turf quality and water efficiency.

Education and/or Experience – Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred, or currently working toward a degree. Previous golf course maintenance experience required. Experience with irrigation central control systems preferred.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
