Course Description

Olympia Fields Country Club is a private club founded in 1915, located on the south side of Chicago, and is comprised of two championship golf courses. The North Course, designed by Willie Park Jr., has hosted two PGA Championships, a number of Western Opens Championships, the 1997 US Senior Open and two US Open Championships, the 2015 U.S. Amateur, the 2017 WPGA Championship as well as both the 2020 and the 2023 BMW Championship. The South Course, originally designed by Tom Bendelow, has hosted many state-wide events along with the North Course, and both are ranked in the top ten in the state of Illinois. The club has just completed a renovation of the South Course and is looking into a North Course renovation.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our Grounds team! This role will be responsible for all forms of general golf course maintenance, fertilizer and pesticide calibration and application, irrigation repair and installation, drainage repair and installation, pest scouting and monitoring, and staff supervision.

Requirements:
Education & Experience
  • A minimum of a two-year degree from an accredited turf school is required.
  • We are looking for someone with at least three to four years of experience working on a golf course.
  • Ideally, this individual should be able to take on the role of Superintendent for one of our courses within a couple of years.
  • We need someone who is motivated and eager to work in a stimulating and challenging environment.
Expected Hours
  • This is a full-year, full-time position.
  • Required to have the ability to work a flexible schedule based on Club needs.
