Description:
This position is responsible for assisting the Superintendents in supervising crew, dispersing daily crew work assignments, and participating in the maintenance of the golf courses.
- Ensures golf course grounds are maintained at pristine, tournament quality conditions.
- Assists in supervising and training a crew of 20 plus employees.
- Maintains and directs repairs to irrigation system.
- Ensures that all fertilizer and pesticide applications are applied and recorded according to the product label.
- Operates and maintains golf course equipment when necessary.
- Follows all state and local safety and environmental standards.
- Other duties as directed.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
- Extensive knowledge of turf, soil, fertilizers, pesticides, golf course equipment and irrigation technology.
- Possess strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedule and long hours when necessary.
- Keen attention to detail and strong sense of urgency.
- 2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Facilities Maintenance or related field preferred but not mandatory.
- SC Certified pesticide applicators license or able to obtain one within 60 days.
