The Role:
Links Hope Island Golf Club is looking to appoint an experienced greenkeeper in the role of Assistant Superintendent (2IC) to join its Course Maintenance team. Links Hope Island is one of Australia's iconic resort golf destinations. Since its inception in 1993 it has consistently ranked as one of the most outstanding courses in Queensland. Covering approximately 70 maintained hectares the course consists of 18 championship holes, 1 spare hole, driving range, chipping green, two practice putting greens and extensive clubhouse grounds.
This is a key position, working directly alongside the Golf Course Superintendent to help lead and mentor the team using your previous knowledge and experience. You will be an enthusiastic individual that will be hands on in the day to day management and future development and planning of the course.

Key Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following key qualifications and experience:
- Cert III in Turf Management or equivalent qualifications
- Time management skills, organised and reliable
- Strong work ethic and can-do attitude
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills (desirable)
- Experience in chemical application and irrigation operation/repair will be highly advantageous
- Chemical spraying certificate
- An understanding of OH&S requirements on golf courses
- Current driver’s licence
- Help promote player satisfaction through quality maintenance and communications
- Work directly with Course Superintendent and other key employees to constantly improve the golf course, club grounds, maintenance facility and all safety programs
- Help schedule and supervise the daily operations of the course maintenance staff
- Train, motivate and supervise the staff in a capable manner
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with recommendations for staff, including performance, training, reviews and education
- Plan, schedule and monitor all daily maintenance operations including ensuring adequate staffing schedules for daily and weekly needs
- Assist in establishing, promoting and enforcing Environmental and Work Health & Safety practices
- Ensure the cleanliness of the golf course equipment and maintenance facility
- Ensure the cleanliness of the golf course and club grounds, and any areas requiring attention are reported to the Course Superintendent
- Assist Course Superintendent with record keeping, daily logs, application records, weather condition reporting, and personnel records
- Communicates in a professional manager with management, suppliers, fellow employees, members and guests
