Assistant Golf Professional

Highland Park Golf Course is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Assistant Golf Professional. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the clubs managed by Troon.

If you get your energy from providing leadership and creating a culture of hospitality where training and accountability are front and center, Troon is seeking an Assistant Professional to join a team of can-do, passionate, and skilled associates focused on providing superior service to their guests, while overseeing multiple aspects of the operation and optimizing financial performance.
Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Golf Professional include:
  • Ensuring that all quality standards for golf operations and golf facilities are maintained.
  • Candidate will be responsible for driving performance to attain established goals in collaboration with the Head Golf Professional and/or General Manager.
  • Monitors revenue goals and expenses for the golf operations and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
  • Enforces basic personnel policy, as well as monitoring policies relating to professional development programs.
  • Ensures all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by staff.
  • Helps to initiate player development programs specific to the client’s request at the facility, in particular junior programs.
  • Maintains and administers the organizational plan for the golf operations alongside the Head Golf Professional and/or General Manager and participates in the improvements.
  • Maintains membership with the PGA and other professional associations. Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
  • Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility’s physical assets (carts, merchandise, etc.)
  • Assists and collaborates in the marketing programs to promote the facility’s services to potential customers.
  • Often responsible for assigning and directing work, disciplining associates, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Directly manages department members that include, but is not limited to: Pro Shop Attendants, Cart Attendants, Range Attendants, Starters, and Rangers.
Qualifications:
  • PGA Associate in good standing with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point Microsoft applications,
  • Enthusiastic leader - willing and able to mentor, develop and motivate staff.
  • Strong business acumen – exemplified through conceptual understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and tee sheet management.
  • Firsthand experience in player development programs and tournament operations.
  • Candidate must be a team player, have a passion for customer service, and be a hands-on leader.
