Job Summary
The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional for the City of Chaska in managing all golf operations at The Loop at Chaska, provides a competitive and quality golfing experience for patrons with exceptional customer service, all while maximizing course usage. This position will require a passion for promoting inclusivity and accessibility to adaptive golfers as well as helping grow the adaptive golf space within the Minnesota Section.

Job Summary
The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional for the City of Chaska in managing all golf operations at The Loop at Chaska, provides a competitive and quality golfing experience for patrons with exceptional customer service, all while maximizing course usage. This position will require a passion for promoting inclusivity and accessibility to adaptive golfers as well as helping grow the adaptive golf space within the Minnesota Section.

Responsibilities
- Assists Head Golf Professional with daily operations for The Loop at Chaska, including staff supervision, reservations, pace of play monitoring and handicap administration, concession oversight and daily financial reporting; uses and keeps updated on golf management software.
- Supervises all course operations, merchandising, hiring staff and training, and assisting in customer service and Rules of Golf play and weather monitoring; responsible for scheduling, payroll and required employee paperwork.
- Organizes and administers all league play, junior golf programs and golfing events. This includes marketing, registration, database maintenance, scoring, prize distribution, and associated food and beverage provisions; provides expertise to all players on all facets of the game and course rules.
- Assists the Head Golf Professional with overseeing the development, coordination, and implementation of our adaptive golf programming, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for everyone, including those with disabilities.
- Provides seasonal and daily management of golf facilities including scheduling of maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
- Assists Head Golf Professional with development and implementation of golf programming and customer service focus, utilizing marketing strategies and tools, website and social media, and networking opportunities with golf professionals and community members.
- Assists Head Golf Professional with merchandise buying, marketing and inventory control, along with cost/margin monitoring.
- Stays current with industry trends and maintains PGA of America good standing status; assists as Handicap Chair.
- Ensures operational compliance with local, state and federal laws as well as the City’s standards and policies, and ensures safety standards are followed (inclement weather, golf cart safety rules, etc.)
- Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree plus five years of golf professional experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus three years of golf professional experience
- Member or apprentice in Good Standing of the PGA (Professional Golfer’s Association)
- Class A PGA member or apprentice affiliation
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- 3-5 years of experience as a Golf Professional
- 3-5 years of retail operations experience
- 3-5 years of leadership and staff supervisory skills
- Ability to problem solve, and communicate solutions clearly to customers and staff
- Proficiency with golfing management software, GHIN, Golf Genius, Microsoft and Excel

- Tractor and other course maintenance equipment and tools
- Significant contact with the golfing public; informing and teaching course rules, and monitoring pace of play
- Providing leadership, addressing employee relations issues as needed
- Sitting/standing at computer for varying period of time
- Walking/riding course and outlying areas
- Office/golf shop environment
- Course and outlying areas, occasionally in inclement weather
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
