Naperville Country Club’s, Assistant Golf Professionals is a position that requires an individual with a stable work history, a team player spirit, and an exceptional customer service attitude along with the ability to perform all tournament operations, provide instruction, and assist in day to day operations in the golf shop. This position will require a person who is able to juggle a variety of duties from starting, assisting in outside services, working the counter, a junior golf ambassador, and running club events. The Assistant Golf Professional understands the critical role that exceeding membership expectations has on the success of the operations. Instilling this culture with the staff requires the individual to make this the highest priority in all activities and interactions.
The Assistant Golf Professional will assist with tournament and daily operations, and help with the junior and any clinics.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• The primary duty of the Assistant Golf Professionals is to promote the interests of Naperville Country Club and the Head Golf Professional while spreading hospitality and goodwill among all members and guests.
• Assist the Caddie Master in training and organizing caddies on weekends
• All Tournament Operations, setting up events in Golf Genius, printing scorecards, format sheets, and scoreboards
• Promote and give instruction to members and guests after approval from Head Golf Professional
• Assist in the development and running of the Junior Golf Programs and clinics
• Play golf will all membership types and abilities
• Opening and Closing of the golf shop
• Work on his/her golf game and pursue personal goals in the golf business
• Will have to perform all aspects of the outside service position as help is needed to ensure member satisfaction
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• PGA Apprentice or Member is good standing
• One to Two years of experience in the private club industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to communicate effectively, perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate ability to manage/coordinate multiple projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks with good judgment, initiative and follow-through
• High confidence level in addressing unplanned or short-notice issues requiring sound judgment
• Proven ability to effectively build and foster a team environment

SCHEDULE / HOURS / COMPENSATION
• This is a fulltime year-round Salary position
• The Assistant Golf Professional is expected to devote their time, energy, and abilities to the development of the golf program and members experience at Naperville Country Club
• Weekend hours are required
• Evening hours are required
• Night time hours may be required on occasion
• Monday hours are required based on scheduled outside events
• Holiday hours are required
• The Assistant Golf Professional recognizes and accepts that as a salaried position, expected to work the hours required to fulfill the complete scope of responsibilities outlined in this job descriptions. It is unlikely that this will be accomplished in a standard 40 hour work week.
