About The Job
- The Assistant Golf Professional plays a key frontline role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for members and resort guests . This highly member-focused position serves as a primary liaison for tee times, bookings , and daily play , while supporting the Golf Operations Manager in the coordination and execution of daily operations and events .
- This is a hands-on , guest-facing role that requires strong service orientation , sound golf expertise , and the ability to build meaningful relationships within the club community . The Assistant Golf Professional supports instructional programming , tournament operations , scoring , and actively enhances member engagement through consistent on-course presence .
- You are a passionate golf professional with strong playing ability and a deep understanding of club operations . You thrive in a member-centric environment and naturally build rapport with guests and members alike .
- You are organized , service-driven , and comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with on-course engagement . You demonstrate professionalism , confidence in rules interpretation , and enthusiasm for growing junior and member programs .
- You enjoy being visible, proactive, and hands-on in delivering memorable golf experiences .
Member Liaison & Daily Operations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for members regarding tee times, bookings , daily play inquiries , and special requests .
- Manage tee sheet accuracy and member communications .
- Support daily operations alongside the Golf Operations Manager and Supervisor.
- Oversee pace of play , coordinate starters and marshals, and ensure smooth on-course flow .
- Deliver a consistently professional and welcoming experience .
- Coordinate and assist with member programs such as Ladies Morning , Men’s Day, and regular member play days .
- Build relationships through active visibility and engagement , including playing with members when appropriate .
- Contribute to member satisfaction , retention , and a strong club community environment .
- Assist in planning and execution of tournaments and club events .
- Manage scoring , results processing , and provide rules interpretation support .
- Serve as an on-course resource to ensure fair play and smooth competition execution .
- Provide occasional individual and group instruction aligned with club standards .
- Support the Director of Instruction with clinics and coaching programs .
- Lead weekly kids-only golf sessions for resort guests .
- Promote junior development and family-oriented golf experiences .
- Assist with Pro Shop operations during peak periods .
- Support merchandise presentation and POS transactions .
- Maintain a professional and organized retail environment .
- Collaborate closely with the golf operations team .
- Support training of starters, marshals, and golf services staff as needed .
- Uphold all club policies , safety standards , and brand expectations .
- Represent the club professionally at all times.
- Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a golf club environment .
- Strong knowledge of golf operations , tournaments , and competitive formats .
- Excellent golf playing ability .
- Experience using Golf Genius tournament software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills .
- Bilingual Spanish / English preferred .
- Service-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills .
